old brake line ?

I have removed all I can on my parts truck. My question is, Is the old metal brake line that runs the length of the frame worth keeping ? Or does time and brake fluid tear them up inside ? I dont want to throw stuff away that is still useable or someone else may need. I already have done too much of that before I found this place.

Re: old brake line ?

I keep fittings, but the metal tubing is often just coated mild steel that corrodes and rusts away. I recycle it (even though there's auto products on it) and replace with stainless lines.

Re: old brake line ?

It's not the brake fluid, but the moisture that the brake fluid absorbs that rusts out the lines. personally, I don't think it is worth the time to work the old fittings loose. I think the time is better spent else where.
