Does anyone make a panel to weld into the spare carrier portion of the drivers stepside fender to convert it to a non-spare fender?

Or will I have to find a fender and cut it up?

Anyone have a rusty bottomed fender they would cut and sell me a panel?

I do not want to give up my good rust free fender, but I sure do want to get rid of the spare carrier notch.

I remember a thread where someone made their own patch and welded it up. It looked pretty good. You might check in the projects and builds portion.

I remember a few years back someone said the cut the spare tire part out and reversed it and welded it back in and finished it off...might be something to at least look at

I think swapping it is your best choice as finding a rust free w/spare cutout fender are harder to find.

As far as I know, there are NO patches at all for stepside fenders

I don't even think repop "spare tire" fenders are even made, which makes it about the only sheet metal part that's not readily available. So your fender may be worth a pretty penny.
You may want to consider selling it & installing a good used fender, or a repop.
Who knows, you may be able to put a couple bucks in your pocket.

If you weren't so far away I'd consider buying, just to have a spare.

no such critter. probably better off finding one without the side mount spare notch.

however, it adds so much sophistication. I'm a bit biased though.
