Re: 36's on a 4"
I have 36-12.50's and 4" and it took a little fender trimming on the front fenders and none on the back. I'll try to get some pics. Also I would go with at least 3.73's that is what I have in mine with a 4 speed and 427 its just right for cruising on the highway and off road, but all my buddies run 4.10's with automatics.

Re: 36's on a 4"
We had a 4" spring and 3" body lift on my buddies truck with 38.5" boggers ( they measured 37") and we had to trim the front fenders, nothing in the back. You decided to keep the k5 or just cant sell it???

Re: 36's on a 4"
It's gonna rub bad... you will have to trim the fenders and I would recommend no more than 35's with 4" lift. I run 33's because i like to have off-road capability. You will never be able to get max flex with 35's

36's and 3.42s dont sound like much fun to me...I'd do atleast a 4.10.

Re: 36's on a 4"
don't know if this will help......my 85' 35" swampers 4" superlift leaf kit in the front, 4" blocks rear... i have not got them to rub yet, but i also play around moslty in mud. i have jumped it a few times and no damage to fenders so i'm assuming they did not rub

Re: 36's on a 4"
Here you go camo.... I have almost the same truck you do:
89 GMC Jimmy. The back end of mine sagged real bad (maybe worn leaf springs) so I put 6" blocks in the back and 4" springs in the front with 35's. THey work great and I think my gears are 308's but I have a sm465 trans with a serious granny gear hooked up to a NP231c so my take off is fine. ![]() ![]() Sorry about the image sizes. I know mine have rubbed jumping stuff.
