Re: Calling all smoothed firewall

Installing a Hydro Boost setup would remove the booster from the firewall.

Re: Calling all smoothed firewall

Not a firewall but how about a smooth cowl/kick panel. This is rob32472's. Check out his build thread

Re: Calling all smoothed firewall

So I have a question for you guys with the shaved firewall setups.

Did you do away with your heater all together?

I would like to have this nice smooth look on mine but still have at least a heater and possible an A/C setup later.

They are replacements but kind of both. There are actually 4 pieces to them. the firewall and floor pieces are replacements but the piece that goes on the cowl above the firewall can be welded on as a replacement or overlaid also but I would weld it in.

I do have A/C but I do not have a heater being that I live in Florida I did not feel like I needed. Here is a pict of how we ran the A/C lines..

Big Al what A/C setup did you go with?

And I like how clean the firewall still looks!

Good Job!

no, not at all....on most after market kits, they have both heater and a/c controls....

In my truck the wires are still in the stock location on the firewall, however they were all extended and ran behind the lh side fender all the way to the bottom of the radiator support.

I used an aftermarket wiring harness. The light harness comes out just behind the inner fender. The engine harness comes out just behind and below the top of the engine. It noticeable, but not obvious.

Re: Calling all smoothed firewall

Im interested in this as well. Can you get just an aftermarket heating system? I dont really want A/C.

Pics of mine done a few years ago. MC/booster, fuse panel, etc., are under the dash. The last pic is of my heater.
