'72 shifter

Can any tell me the part number (chrome shifter for a '72 chevy 4x4 w/sm465) and hopful a dealer can still get?If not does Hurst or B&M make a shifter for that tranny.I think a chrome shifter would look nice with the original blue interior.

Re: '72 shifter

Hurst and B&M do not make shifters for these transmissions (sucks dont it?) but you could always get replacement Hurst shift stick and have it bolted or welded to your stock shifter base, for the Hurst look. Just a thought.

As for chrome shifters, I don't know if they are available new to be bought. I know some later 80's Chevys had chrome shifters, but they had those funky bends in them too. Hope this helps.
