Pete, some guy a while back sold me a set of these chrome letters. Of course, he didn't bother to tell me that the backs were like broken rivets, flattened as you said. But what I did, and it's worked well, was go to Home Depot and get some #2 screws, 1/8" long, and screwed those damn chrome letters right back on to where they were supposed to go (from the back of the panel). I had to use a thin drill bit to pilot holes on some of the letters, but it was pretty easy overall and they've stuck on for the last couple of months with no problems. Hope this helps.

Chris

letters

Drill out rivet just enough to release it through hole. To go back with them, take some JB WELD(steel epoxy) and put on rivet heads . Worked for me on brother-inlaws trucks.
