Alternator's
Just out of curiosity,
What decides which side the motor a alternator goes on? I have never remember seeing this before. If I did I have forgotten the reason. Someone please jar my memory!

67-72 GM trucks w/small block = short w.p./drv side alt. 68-72 GM trucks w/big block = short w.p./drv side alt. Starting in 69, both big and small block chevy cars used long w.p./pass side alt., then in 73 all (both big & small block) GM trucks went to the long style w.p./pass side alt. |

Re: Alternator's
My '69 w/AC and PS has the alternator on the driver's side. AC compressor is on the passenger side. I have a 350.

Thanks I knew it was a logical explanation for it.
