Noise made when starting truck Help?
My 97 Chevy started making a funny noise when I start the motor and when I turn it off. The noise lasts for a second or 2. The noise sounds like it is coming from somewhere around the driver side dash. Probability around the steering column.
It sounds like a zzzing noise (say it out loud) Kinda like a shiners horn  Maybe something electrical? The truck starts just fine no problems but I would like to know if this is something serious or just another annoying problem.  Any advice would be helpful..........as I dislike paying the repair man. If you want anymore info just let me know. |

Mine does that but its the fuel pump turning on and off.

I can hear my fuel pump when I turn my truck on but this noise is new and rather annoying. My fuel pump has been noisy since I bought the truck 5 years ago.
