bump stops
i have a 71 chevy.I was wonder what people on here did about bump stops that had air bags on there trucks. Is it somthing that is need in case something goes wrong with the air ride. If so what is the best kind to get and where to get them. pictures from anyone that did this would be great.

Its a good idea to design your suspension with a bump stop or something to keep the suspension from hitting the ground if a bag pops

The frame or suspension does not hit the ground when it is all the way down. Are ump stops still needed if so what kind should i use.

Do your front tires hit the inner fenders when aired-out? If so, I would set a bump stop just before they touch, that way you do not lose your steering. If you are using upper plates, you can replace one of the mounting bolts with a screw-in style bumpstop from Energy Suspension or the like. Trim or shim as necessary to set it where you like...

Take a close look at this pic. Hopefully you can see what was built here. The guys that set up my suspension built a riser to bolt in place of the bump stop. This allows the suspension to rest on the stop and the truck will still roll.
It's a very functional option to have.

My Slam Specialties RE7 bags have built in bumpstops. And that is how I roll.

I've read that the built in bump-stops on the Slam Specialties aren't designed to support the entire weight of a vehicle.
