Re: diy4x engine crossmember
I agree with grendal on the installion and it looks better and stronger than the old factory one. You won't be dissapointed.

Re: diy4x engine crossmember
Easy install but there were a few issue's with oil pan clearance early on, just make sure to run a stock pan.
...or contact DIY to make sure the one your using will work. |

Re: diy4x engine crossmember
Mine was missing hardware and i had to shim it because there was large gaps between the upper and lower frame C. I could have sucked it down with the bolts, but i didn't want to put undue stress on the frame. Also, if you have a spare motor on a stand, bolt the new motor mounts on to the motor, and then bolt the crossmember on them to check fit. It easier to slot a hole now, then when its in the truck. The crossmember moved my motor to the driverside a little, and up on the pass side a little. I brought it back down with the frame shims. I called Kurt twice and left messages. I got no responce.

Re: diy4x engine crossmember
Can someone fill me in, I just located a '71 frame and it's missing the front crossmember.
Anyone have a link for this cross-member replacement if that's what it is ?? Thanks !! |
