C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
First this is my first post here, so forgive me if this is old news. You guys seem to have the answers. I live in a rural area with many old C60 ( C70? )farm trucks around. Will any of the cab and front end parts work on a C10? Many of these big trucks are sheded and see little winter use. I'm just hoping for some useable body parts.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
someone has posted a thread with c-60 grilles on c-10s also, I have been able to get a close look at a c-60 and I believe that the hood, grille support, doors and even cab parts are interchangeable on many models. As far as front fenders go, I am not sure though. One thing to be extra careful about would be anything that mounts directly to the frame since the frames were obviously very different between the c-10 and c-60/70 trucks

As far as I'm aware, much like rookierodbuilder, many parts are interchangeable. There is one series of trucks who's hood is shorter but that's the only exception that I know of. There would probably be a difference in the front fender sizes but those aren't too hard to find because it's typically the hood that rusts out and the fenders are normally fine.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
the cab will interchange, but the transmission hump is smaller almost flat in the c60,you would think it would be taller than the c10,but it isn't.the doors are the same, windshield wiper panel, cowl panels, and hood will work.grille will work but you have to use your old grille mounts out of the c10.if you find a c60 lcf(low cab foward)nothing will work.the lcf is the one with the short hood, front corners of doors are cutout for fenderwells.the grille panel, radiator support, inner front fenders, front fenders will not work off of c60 because they are all too tall for the c10 frame.i remember a local lumber company when i was a kid had a whole fleet of 1966 c50 and c60 trucks they used for many years i thought they were cool looking.just my 2 cents worth hope i have been of some help.thank you.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Just bought a 1965 c-60 for the same reason. Check out the thread I had already posted:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=321822 The cab is the same from what I've seen so far. The firewall did look a little different. On those big trucks the engine sits a lot further down in the engine bay than on the c-10's. The hood, doors and heater are the same. The front fenders, inner fenders, grill surround, core support, front bumper are all different.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Another cool thing about these trucks is though 1965 some were powered with a 348 or 409... This C80 has a 409....

Thankyou all for your replys. It's going to help me when I start looking again after the snow melts. 502tripower your 348/409 idea is a great one, didn't even think of that.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Man, Florida's moisture has messed up many trucks that I could use for parts, but I'm quite glad that I can easily go look for parts at anytime of the year.

I'm looking for a C-60 grill if there's an extra one floating around out in the woods somewhere.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Reviving this post a bit. Has anybody swapped a 1964 C60 seat into a 1964 C10? Does it utilize the same bolt hole locations?

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Would like to get everyone's opinion on the below pic. Please confirm this is not a LCF truck and it would swap to a c10 frame, use c10 fenders, et. Will the cab mounts need to be changed to the c10 style to match with the c10 frame? I know the floor will be different and require using a different trans hump but is there anything else that needs to be modified to fit onto a c10 frame, specifically cab mounts, firewall differences?
Thanks |

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
It is not an LCF, but that's all I can help with.
Although I have heard that the Cab Mounts are different and I believe they are not easy to change.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
All I know is anyone who'd think of raping the engine out of this complete cool classic rig rather than restore to it's original glory is a fool . Open your eyes, that is a cool truck!!

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Hey all. I know the fenders on the c60 are different but how hard would it be to make them work on a c10? I know they are taller but could you trim the bottom and they still bolt on to my inner fenders or are they completely different? I love the look of the c60 fenders and think it would be a different look on a c10. Any help is appreciated.

The doors are cut back in the front lower corner to fit the fenders. The cab corners are cut too. Hmm, wonder would it would be possible to put a C10 front clip on... |

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Not to sound stupid witch it will be.But I'm looking to invest into 2 of these old chevy trucks from the 1964-66 trucks.I'm not looking to keep the factory engines in them.I want to Up date to modern LS or Duramax. What are the pit falls of running these types of engines in these old trucks.
I'm looking to run hydro boost brakes Run the newer power steering box AC and run the Allison 6-9 speed. My question's are can i make the 1980 and up front Ibeam work in my older truck cus i want to run disc brakes. Do i need to update the rear end for the automatic trans or can i just use the one that came with the truck.it will be check cleaned and fixed if needed. Would it do any good to run a Air bag system under the truck for handling and comfort.Just asking Questions |

Where, in Florida, can you find these trucks? The ones I'm finding are in the farm belt, nowhere near Florida.

Re: C10, C60 parts interchangeability?
Hello all. I have been trying to do some research on C60 trucks. I currently have a 1969 C60 dump truck. As of yesterday I was able to fire it right up and get the brakes air brakes to work. My cab is pretty far gone. However I have stumbled upon a 1970 C60 donor cab. My question is will the 1970 cab swap over to the 1969 C60 frame. I have been putting endless search cues throughout Google to find this answer, and I find some information to answer my question. But I was just curious if anyone has the definite answer. Also was there a certain year that these cabs would interchange with no problems. Thank you all!
