Front shock issue - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys,

Been noticing a small leak under my passenger side front A-arm, come to find out the shock is leaking at the shaft where it meets the cylinder....my question is, I got these through CPP but am not very happy about having to send it back to them (under warranty) so they can check it out and re-send me another one...
First, their customer service has been lacking...and second I'm not sure how long I'll be without one....
My solution is to buy a new front set (the current set are Doetsch Tech)...any board vendors/ member out there that can help me out....where is a good place to buy from that'll get'em to me quick??...should I just replace the fronts or should I replace the rears too??...should I go back with Doetsch Tech or KYB's??....

FYI...front is lowered with 2.5" spindles only....

local autoparts stores have shock asorbers// walk in walk out with shocks is the way i do it

cdowns....thanks....another question....When I called CPP, I was told that I should use stock height shocks....not the ones for lowered trucks??...Anybody got anything on that??....If not, I might just go buy some shocks from the local auto parts store....any particular brand names better than the other??

if you dropped your truck by spindles in the front nothing changed as far as shock measurements and stock works// monroe top of the line is good same with acdelco

I droped mine with springs in the front & back.
Now this is going to sound crazy but it's working for me.
I made a extension for the front shocks so I could use over the counter shocks. They have worked fine now for 3 years.
In the rear I used the same front shock, they are 3" shorter and are working fine as of now.

I've got a 4/5 drop and have been using stock shocks for years without a problem, even with the bed fully loaded.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
