Re: how many c20 longhorns were built in 1970

it is VERY hard to judge the value of a truck in another part of the country. What sells for 5000 here is hardly worth 1000 in cali. The soggy market makes it worse, and plus, the value of the havy trucks is real tough to figure. one day you'll see one sell for top dollar, then the next, they won't sell at all.
Last but not least, it is very very hard to tell from one photo. But it does look bad ass from that one pic.

I can answer your other Q though... there were 5181 C/20 longhorns built in 70.

Hard to say.How fresh is the paint? What repairs were needed? It more than likely has filled holes for lower mouldings.Either the uppers were added or it was a Deluxe 2-tone.It`s a Custom/20,right?Is the seat the original cloth or recovered? What options does it have? What motor/transmission?
I`d say around your part of Virginia from what I see and assume:$5,000-6,000.Most people ask more than what they`re worth, though.

Didn`t lower trim come on Customs? That`s my main focus.Looks like the trim got skipped over and I wonder how it`s filled.I know some just want to eliminate the trim, but I usually see it as cutting corners when doing a quick fix up to sell.

Re: how many c20 longhorns were built in 1970

Sounds like it is just about done. Is it low mileage, repainted proffessionaly the original color? Did it come from a dry climate? That metallic turquoise and white roof always looks sharp and it is one of the rarer colors.I would say 6000 to 7000 would be a fair price. The longhorn was not the most popular pickup for the general public, but was a favorite of the recreation vehicle crowd. Remember production numbers were down for all 1970 models because of a long U.A.W. strike.

From that one pic...it is a beautiful truck. I don't believe that was a stock color...but I still love it.

Re: how many c20 longhorns were built in 1970

Regardless if ever bought or not, the 1970 model year was the lowest production of any of the 67 thru 72 truck era due to a 67 day strike starting in October of 1969. 492K total trucks for 1970, the lowest in since '63. To give an example there were over 750K 72's built.

Re: how many c20 longhorns were built in 1970

but not the lowest in longorn talk. 68 was the lowest production of longhorns. To be fair, not only was it the first year of that model, but it was a mid model year introduction too. Interestingly, 69 (if memory serves) was the highest production of Longhorns.

I think that is a stock color, or close to it. I have a 70 Longhorn in "Aqua" or "Med green" I forget exactly which.
