Need help installing universal starter switch in 1976 C10

I'm not really sure where this goes, I figure it would be better off here.

I have a 1976 C10 that the ignition switch is screwed up on. There's a rod that runs up the column to the ignition switch that has an actuator with teeth on it that is supposed to move the rod back and forth when you turn the key but since someone tried to steal the truck years back, I can't connect the rod to the ignition switch anymore. I bypassed it temporarily by running the metal rod outside of the steering column (along the top) and I just push it all the way forward to crank the truck.

Instead of going with a push button starter switch, I found a universal starter switch with keys on AutoZone's website below:

Since I don't have a spare column and I plan on using this universal starter switch as a permanent replacement, here is the big question...how do I wire this thing up? I need it to have the accessory (radio), the accessory/ignition, and of course the start functions. Do find my original switch down on the column and clip the wires off and use those, or do I run totally new wires to this new ignition switch?

Thanks in advance.
