Talking Bed Crossmembers

Does anyone have any ideas for bed supports under my bed floor?? Unfortunately a couple of mine are rusted out. I have thought about just using square tubing, but I'm not sure I would like the look that would give.

Thx

Re: Bed Crossmembers

I have my bed apart right now and the supports are 2x3", so i dont see why you couldnt use 1/8" wall 2x3 tubing. I checked the price here on the tubing...$110.00 for a 24' piece, so it may be cheaper to buy the bed supports from a vender.

Re: Bed Crossmembers

I would go for the 2x3 square tubing. I replaced my rear cab support with tubing because i couldn't find the rail from any local vendors, and it was very easy to work with

Re: Bed Crossmembers

Ok so Im just looking into getting some steel tubing, what thickness do I need?

.083
.120
.188

I haven't had much experience with metal! I should be carrying anything too heavy, my truck has a flip kit installed

.120 = just under 1/8th........125
.188 = just over 3/16th........187
use the .120 and you'll be fine........

Re: Bed Crossmembers

OK the original bed cross-members are 72" correct? I would like to keep them the same length preferably. I was hoping to get them today in Calgary, but my truck is an hour away at my farm, otherwise I would measure it right now!
