heater control plate?

Do some non- AC heater controls have an aluminum plate on them? I just replaced my heater controls and the new controls was painted black behind the knobs. The controls that came off had a aluminum trip piece behind the knobs. Was this stock? can you buy just the aluminum piece? I would just use my old trim piece but its not in the best condition.

Re: heater control plate?

i think lowlife is right. I prefer the aluminum, black looks like its missing something. I ordered the rebuilt kit from ECE the other day, was about $40 i think.

Re: heater control plate?

Brothers shows the aluminum trim piece in their rebuild kit. (part#HCR6972) It's $29.99 with 3 new levers and the decals.
