Cargo light brake light???

I saw something interesting on the freeway on my way home from work today. It was one of our trucks customized with the cargo light functioning as a third brake light. I wish I had my camera. It didn't look like this truck would need the cargo light as it had a custom show truck look about it. Anyone else ever seen this?

Re: Cargo light brake light???

I have the LED cargo light that I will be installing. The LED Brake/Cargo light function as both brake light and cargo light. I purchased it off this board.

Re: Cargo light brake light???

I hid mine under the paint... We filled in the cargo light hole then used a brake light that uses a red led with a clear lens. It was installed by cutting a hole (more of a slot really) then the lens was glued in place from behind. The part of the lens that sticks out was then sanded off with the bodywork and the light installed through the interior light hole from inside the cab. We masked the lens off for the first few coats of color then unmasked it for the last few coats of color and the clear. You really have to look for it when it's not turned on.

Off...

Re: Cargo light brake light???

We cary a replacement LED cargo light that doubles as a 3rd brake light. It fits in the original cargo light.

That is SWEET ! I was told by a body shop owner that he did that very similar thing except his paint was black. He was right about you have to really look for it to know its not just shaved. Awesome job ! So did you do your side markers that way also ?

What WES sells is the best as far as ease of switching over from the original cargo light to LED.

No, I just shaved them but that would have been a cool idea... Maybe next time.
