Re: What kinda numbers???

yeeeesh, we just went through this in another thread. Your gonna have to get a whole bunch more specific if you want anything +/- 5 seconds

weight?
short bed / long bed?
chassis mods?
slicks?
gears?
Trans?
convertor?
more specific info on heads (casting # or flow #'s)?
conpression?
exhaust?
... that would be a good start

Re: What kinda numbers???

you could run a 14.xx If you forgot that a warm up burnout is supposed to "heat" the tires not shred them to the cores and then slip an slide the whole track

Re: What kinda numbers???

I would guess somewhere in the low 8s in the 1/8 and low-to-mid 12s in the 1/4. These guesses are motor-only passes.

Re: What kinda numbers???

I have no experience with BBC trucks, but I'd have to say mid-high12's if all goes well and you shift at the sweet spot to torque your way to the stripe. But... just a guess from what I've seen other well built, heavy 454 trucks do at the track. Optimized tune and driving,,, maybe even slip into the 11's in good air. Keep in mind every 2000 feet above sea level will cost you roughly .2 seconds in 1/4 mile ET. Good air / bad air at your elevation will help or hurt your ET too.

Re: What kinda numbers???

Hard to say. I've seen a stock headed big cam 454 with headers and intake run a low 14's on the motor and with 180hp jets go mid 12's as I drove around him about the 330' mark. He did light me though...

Re: What kinda numbers???

i would be happy with high 11's low 12's! thats actually what i was shooting for! but i just got stock heads but they have been worked over. its got 2.19 1.88 vavles and some porting, i got 10.5:1 compression and not a whole lot of weight reduction yet! i have little stuff like no inner finders, fuel cell to back, battery to back, but i would like to do like a glass hood or somthing in the long run but try to keep it all steel? i guess thats just my style lol thanks for all the replies!

I'll guess low 13's to high 12's on motor. Let us know when you get it out and make some runs.
