Re: painting door panels
I recently refinished my door panels and console. First, strip with Mar-Hyde Tal-Strip paint remover. I purchased mine at Auto Zone. Second, rinse and scrub with detergent and water. Third, spray plastic (panel) with BullDog (or similar) Adhesion Promoter. Fourth, I sprayed finish coat with Omni-Pak Master Blend paint that I purchased from Brothers. It goes on like a lacquer but don't know if it is. You can call them to get specifics. The panels and console have held up very well for the past six months and the colors are formulated to match factory colors.

Re: painting door panels
I ended up taking the wire wheel to them on a 4 1/2" grinder. Zipped it off pretty good and clean. I used Cross Fire Paint. Before and after pic.
