WTB, in cab gas tank, Cypress TX
I need a rust free gas tank asap.. Can't go back to work with a truck that eats fuel filters every 30 miles. Tired of messing with this current tank. It's cleaner than my old one, but the rust powder from cleaning is screwing it all up, plus every time I fill it up.
I'm a student in HS and my money is tight. I found a guy on CL that has some for 40 bucks but he's unsure of their condition.. I'm up in cypress. Last edited by texanidiot25; 02-11-2009 at 06:09 PM. |

I had great success with a tank treament. it's like a piant you slosh around. does need some time to cure though, so if you had another tank, treat it. KBS coatings; complete kit for $60

considered it, but several members who ran shops were against it, with the coatings falling off..
How long have you been running it? |

I may have a deal for you...if you pay for shipping I might have access to a very good used gas tank...FREE I am assuming they were all the same for 67-72 model years. I'll know tomorrow. Let me know if you are interested.

Very interested, I'd cover shipping and then some.
From what I know they were the same, but 71/72 tank had a different filler neck diameter, and had parts for the carbon filter for the gas fuems. Thanks CST! |

I have a 68 and 72 tanks that "look" in good condition. You can come and give whatever you want for them.
Im located on the east side of Houston. (IH-10 East after the Budwizer Plant) LMK

Re: WTB, in cab gas tank, Cypress TX
Thanks for the offers. I'll hold up on it for now. We pulled the sending unit out and the sock is still very clean looking, and when running my ghetto filter pump the gas was fairly clean.. Seems my rust is coming from the fuel lines?
I'll PM you guys if anything comes up after driving it some more this week. |

Re: WTB, in cab gas tank, Cypress TX
I have four or five, but haven't checked them all. I know a couple of them came from running trucks.
