Is this $2500 worth

I went to look at this truck today ... http://dallas.craigslist.org/sdf/cto/1027786559.html ...It has a rebuilt 350/350 auto. The driver's rocker and floor are shot, all original paint ,the cab corners are rotted also.....with all that it does run good and strong, the owner said it needs a tune up. It also has rear springs in the back.....aren't all GMC leafs? Would you pay the asking price?

Looks like a decent truck for that price especialy if the bed floor and tailgate are nice and straight.

I bet he is asking more than what he would take for it. I'd offer less and try to steal it...lol.

Re: Is this $2500 worth

He was originaly asking $3500 for it but he said his wife put it on CL with the price shown....I offered $2k but he said he wouldn't take any less than 2500..the bed looks good and the tailgate has surface rust. I like it but I need good reasons to convince my wife why I should get another rust bucket

I would for sure pay the $2500 for it!

Just tell the wife "Sorry baby didn't see the rust when I bought it.... but dont worry I'll get some patch panels right away and get started on it!"

Re: Is this $2500 worth

NOt a bad price. Figure on having to replace the rusty panels soon (so the wife doesn't get mad at you). Or tell her there is no rust, order the parts secretly, then install them in the midnight hour. Oh wait, that probably won't be good for your marriage though.

Cool Re: Is this $2500 worth

It's probably worth $2500, but does it have everything you want in a truck. I'm not that great at body work, so I avoid the rusty ones. Also, for Texas, AC would seem important. But that's me. The real questions are:
  • Do you want it?
  • Can you afford it?
  • Is is a good fit for your skillset?

It's not what we think that matters.............
