guage cluster question
truck itself has lots of miles but who cares most people are concerned about the motor only. My question is since i have done lots of work to my 84 swb including a brand new motor I have taken the gauge cluster and tried to reset it to all 00000s' but didnt work. Apparently, I broke a little white paper tab in the back thats probably why it doesnt work anymore. Any of you guys know how to do this successfully?

Re: guage cluster question
I hope you made note of the odometer reset on the driver's side door jam in some form of permanent marking to be legal!
That white retainer is critical to the operation of the odometer, you'll have to get a new one from the wreckers or something to get it working again

Re: guage cluster question
Yellow. If ya broke the thin plastic spacer between the number wheels your stuck, you will have to get anothere speedo from a scrap yard like Russel said. Turning them back is not a big deal, I used to do it all the time long ago for a dealer I worked for. I can't explain how to do it because it gets complicated and you need 3 hands to do it and have the numbers sit right in the window. To bad you didn't live closer, I'd do it for ya. jim

Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose. |
