71 Turbo 400 Kickdown wiring
This question has two components.
1. my kickdown switch on the gas pedal has a pink wire that connects to the fuse block. Can someone tell which spade I should connect this to? 2. does the kickdown wiring coming through he firewall connect to what is known as the Transmission Spark Control harness? |

Re: 71 Turbo 400 Kickdown wiring
I guess you have a BB? My response might not answer you ?'s, but on a truck that I just parted out that wire from the pedal was plugged into the radio spot and the red radio wire was plugged in to the tee and ran to the radio. The other wire, orange, I think went through the firewall in the same grommet as the oil pressure line and tied into another harness in the area of the distributor. That wire eventually ran down to the transmission and is the only plug-in on a TH 400 I think. Not likely, but I hope this helps.....Jason

Re: 71 Turbo 400 Kickdown wiring
It is a BB. The wire does come through the firewall with the oil pressure line. The pin on my Turbo 400 is two bladed. There is a black and Yellow (?) wire leading to it.
Just to be certain about the Pink wire, it connects to the radio lead on the fuse panel. |
