New Burb Owner

After saying on and off the last year or so that I was going to get a 67-72 chevy suburban, I finally did. So a friend and I drove up to KC after I saw this thing listed on craigslist. I offered him $900 for it and he took it. I had originally planned to trailor it back, but after the trailer I was going to use became damaged by a local Co-op, I decided what the heck, and drove it 300miles back to Perkins! Here are some pictures I took of it in the parking lot at work. It has a 350, what I think is a Muncie 4 speed, manual brakes, & steering. It's a 3/4 ton. It has some rust issues, the worst of it being the driver's side rear wheel arch, under & just behind the 3rd door. The pass. side rear wheel arch is in slightly better shape, and the floor on the driver's side where the 4th door would be need some attention too, but overall it is in pretty decent shape and is still solid.

The truck was orange from the factory and has since been painted green with a gold or white top.
Looks like a starting point, right?

Re: New Burb Owner

Yes!! Forgot to mention that. It does have barn doors in the back. All the doors on this thing are solid!
Front seat came out of a 70's ford something or other....

Re: New Burb Owner

I'm really glad to see this burb goto someone on the site. I have been lurking on here for several months. I looked at that burb and darn near bought it myself. I have 2 70's (a SWB step 4x4 and a LWB fleet 2wd) that I'm working on and decided to put my money in those existing projects instead of starting another. It would have been nice to have 3 70's of all different body styles though Congratulations on the purchase.

Its a faux 50th interior!!!! Truck was originally orange with "gold trim" according to the SPID. Then someone painted it dark green with a gold roof & later came back with white roof. I imagine they did the green & gold interior then. It's a pretty sloppy-brushed-on paintjob!!

Thanks!! I very nearly hesitated to buy it, and, really, I didn't expect him to take my offer. It isn't the greatest, but it's complete, drivable, and I have my foot in the burb world.

9 bills and it made it 300 miles with no problems... sounds like a good enough deal, and a cool ass burb to boot!
