sorry uncut dash fans...

so when i got my truck i cut the dash for a new style cd player. it came out great, but when i decided to buy an in dash dvd player i ran in to a problem.

whe n the screen is out it hits the dash pad, so i took the center section that i saved out of my parts truck and cut it also, i will be removing the ash tray and relocating the dvd player down so when it flips up it wont his the dash pad, but to do this i had to cut another dash.

ill get more pics as i make progress

yeah, make it work for you, that is cool. A cut dash is better than it rotting to the ground somewhere.

Re: sorry uncut dash fans...

Whew, you make me feel better now. I've been afraid to swap out the non working am radio for a cd player/receiver in the 71 because I was worried the resto boys would woop me like a poor stepchild.
The main reason I might leave the stock radio is that nice units get stolen all too often around here.

I've been looking for an overthead console that would hold a radio/cd player.

Re: sorry uncut dash fans...

It's cool.

Plus, like stated by Bus Ted Knuckle...

I would rather see owners modding, creating, altering these trucks then see one rotting away in a backyard somewhere...

I am with you, I have similar plans for mine.

Re: sorry uncut dash fans...

Ironically, my dash's radio section is uncut, but it's behind the custom dash panel! How's that for irony?

Is that a full double din sized player or a 1.5 Din? I'm thinking about one in my Chevelle.

Re: sorry uncut dash fans...

I used to be an uncut guy, but you can't find a decent radio that will go into the uncut space, and you can't have a cd player. So I will probably end up cutting my '67. If there was only something decent out there to use...
