Bought 1987 Silverado, need info...

I bought a 1987 Silvarado on the weekend and got it for a good buck. 180km full load. Runs and drives but needs som TLC. Anyone else got this color combo. Looking for some 15x10s on the back and 15x8s on the front pics. I noticed that there is no moulding on the back of the cab, was that an option?

The running boards and toolbox gotta go( I know I know) but it was good they were on cause it only needs cab corners.

Anything else I should look for that these trucks were prone to problems?

Looks like a nice truck, not a stock seat is it?

I sort of have that combo on my '86 long bed; the bottom 1/3 is that gray and the top 2/3 is that blue color. I really like that blue and gray together.
My '86 short-bed is that style two-tone but instead of gray it is navy blue (dark). If I repaint it I would be tempted to do the navy with gray instead like yours.
I have seen some 'burbs and some Blazers with the inverse of that; gray with a light blue center stripe. Like that too!

The cab trim was an option.

Unfortunately the stock seat is long gone. I dont know if will seek one out or just live with these. If the cab trim was an option is there a way to put it on or is the cab suppose to have those mounting tabs on it, making it a big project for a little piece of trim?

I think I will stay with this color combo. I do like the white in the center with the blue.

If anyone has any pics with these colors. I would like to see them.

Nice find! Is it just me or is the center color gray?

I have an '87 sorta like that except mines midnight blue in the middle. As you can see mine didn't have the trim behind the cab. I own another '87 that does have it, so it musta been an option. I bought this truck for $500. It runs and drives pretty decent but overall the truck is in rough shape. I just bought it for a winter beater. I had these rims and tires kicking around so i painted them up to match and ran them. They are 15 by 7 front and 15 by 10 rear.

That looks good. ...Yes the center is grey, but the dark blue looks good to. I have seen that color combo before.

What are the tire sizes, love the stock stance

Hey does anyone know where I can find that chrome body moulding? I thought you could buy it in a roll and do the whole truck? Just cut the lengths you need? Mayby i need a new thread on this?

The problem with the rolls that I have seen (and this was from about 5 years ago so they might have changed it) was it didn't match the alluminum pieces that wrap around the back of the bed. Not a big deal if you remove the stock pieces and go with all of the roll stuff.
Also with cutting your own pieces the ends aren't "finished". Again, maybe not a big deal

LMC I think has a kit that is pre-cut for all the pieces and has finished ends. I have never seen them in real life so I can't speak for quality or how close to OEM it looks but I thought it was reasonble priced at ~$150 a kit.
