Project: Black Box
With one dedicated massive wire brush and a bit of sunshine lately I decided to clean up the inside of my box as best as I could and discovered John Deere Blitz Black paint.
I bought two cans today and used all but one which allowed me to do the bulkhead and 1/2 way down a side of the box. I figure at this rate will need about 6 cans just for the sides. So those who think that this is a cheap alternative.. well its $12/can :P I'll post more pics later but for now you can see what I started with, some of what I did and my big wire brush. |

Re: Project: Black Box
just my two cents ....but you're money will go alot further if you clean up the bed before you spent the money painting it.....it will last longer and look so much better. its worth the few minutes spent

Re: Project: Black Box
If that's the case, I think I'd be finding some 98 cent a can paint....

Re: Project: Black Box
Caterpillar black and yellow are also very good quality paints. Lots of body and holds up well. I work at a Cat dealer and painted our outdoor cutting edge racks with the yellow right over weathered rusty metal and it's held up excellently over the past 4 years. It is about 10 bucks a can for spray cans. The gallon cans are good too.
