Is my reaserch correct?
I have been reading on various sites and technical data on my truck and i think i have narrowed it down to my truck having a 3.08 rear gear. It is a 65 1/2 ton came with a 283 and a power glide. What do you guys think?

Re: Is my reaserch correct?
Standard issue was 3.73:1. The sure-fire way is open the cover and count the ring and pinion gear teeth.

You guys are right--but there's no telling what wound up in there forty years later! Pop the cover, and count 'em to be sure.

Re: Is my reaserch correct?
don't get mad guy's not trying to be a know it all because i am not.but if you look on the page listing the 1965 models you need to be looking under c14(c10 short bed) or c15(c10 long bed).there is some confusion with that series i.d. list.the 1/2 ton c10 trucks only came with 3:73 which is standard.3:07 which is optional and 4:11 which is optional.the c10 powerglide trucks all had 3:73 rear axles.

Re: Is my reaserch correct?
For 1/2 ton pickup ratios look at C14 and C15. R10 is corvair and G 10 is van.
