rear sway bar??
has anyone done a reay sway bar on a coil spring rear end?? i just bought one for my 68 fleetside, and before i go through the trouble of installing it, i wanted to know some opinions............my truck has been lowered 5 1/2" in the front and 6" in the rear with coils and spindles.
anyone have some input??

I actually have no experience installing a rear bar on a coil spring rear ended truck, but will be doing my 78 C-10 with leaf springs using a Helwig rear anti sway bar. I've had high performance cars with rear coil springs with rear anti-sway bars in the past and they helped keep the rear flat when making a high speed cornering move. I expect this to be true on my truck when I install these with Edelbrock IAS shocks.

cool well i was hoping to hear from someone that has done it to their coil rear. i purchased the hellwig rear sway bar kit for mine, however i am not real pleased with it. the hellwig kit, uses clmaps for everything, nothing bolts to the trailing arms or the fram with their kit. i think i am going to modify it so it does, i just don't trust these clamps......we'll see, i will let you know how it does...thanx for the reply!!

I'm going to be doing one sometime, This is what I'm going to do, should work don't know if its the best way. I had the half leaf type overload springs on my truck, took them off, but the pads are still there, I'm using a piece of square tubing bolted on to the pads, runs across the axle, behind it, This then gives lots of room, options for the end links or bushings on this bar and the sway bar itself goes right on the frame with sway bar bushings. I found a bar off a 4x4 I think that has long "arms" and the right bends to go from the frame down to the axle. or if you found one the right width the endlinks could go right to the overload spring pads, that would be slick, but would require some looking around. or the bar could go on the pads with bushings and the endlinks go up to the frame, you would have to make some brakets though. I like the idea of this cause there is no welding on to the truck, only 6 bolts. could be taken off real easy and not much fabrication. I know someone has a real slick Camero rear bar though, a bit more work but it looks almost factory

Me, too! I'm interested in mounting a rear sway bar in my coil-sprung Dana 60 C20. Haven't thought it through very much yet, I guess, because it just dawned on me that the auxilary springs might get in the way. Anybody done this with a late-model Dodge (Dana 70) swaybar?
