Welcome aboard! That's a nice ride you have there. I considered a color like yours before I settled on orange. Looking forward to more pix and anything else you do.

Looking good 62. It's good to see that you're enjoying it and driving it alot. I'd change to atleast an automatic and consider an addition of a 350 sb with some slight upgrades. I'm liking the stance on it though.

Old custom classic trucks have soul. Their dashboards aren't plastic, and they've survived both the best and worst of what the 20th century had to offer. For the owners of these trucks, it's often the same story. Through both good and bad times they persevered, until one day they could turn the key and roll up in a customized truck everyone with good taste would admire.Custom Classic Trucks

Talking Re: My 62 Longbed Project .. It Moves !!!

.....fromAZ. I agree with some of the previous comments. Keep it running and enjoy it for awhile. If you dont drive it and its in a 1000 pieces you start forgetting about it.

Looks really nice to me.

Re: My 62 Longbed Project .. It Moves !!!

I would drive it thru the summer and in the meantime get your plan together and start getting your parts lined up. So when winter hits you'll have plenty of time to do the major projects. Because you know once you start one project it will turn into more. For an example: You'll convert to 5 lug and find other things that are worn out. Then you'll reuild the front suspension and think since I've got it apart I'll go ahead and clean the frame (what you can get too) and paint. Then you'll think, heck if I pull the cab and bed off I can do the complete frame and so it goes. At least that is my thought process.

Words of wisdom there. It was very hard for me to stop myself from pulling the cab off of mine. However, I wanted to be able to drive this spring, and not forget about it.

Re: My 62 Longbed Project .. It Moves !!!

Nice truck by the way. Mine had a similar factory coloring. Except mine had the white roof, and white grill. I agree with the others, cruise it, get a game a plan, collect parts you need, so when the time comes you have most of what you need, it just becomes time to do the work.

Re: My 62 Longbed Project .. It Moves !!!

Something else to think about is hit the local cruize ins and carshows with it this summer and network with people. You'll be suprized what you might round up as far as parts go not to mention new friendships.

I like it! I've never seen ball caps on trucks like ours before. How does it effect your light output?

Re: My 62 Longbed Project .. It Moves !!!

Thanks everyone for the words of Encouragement & Your Thoughts !!
I've decided to just enjoy it as is for now , go to some car cruises and just enjoy ... This way I can gather up the parts I need , so true about if I tear it apart .. One thing will leed to another , paint the frame etc.. I will add more pictures .. I haven't really noticed any difference in lighting with the ballcap headlight covers , I thought something needed to be different even if small ..
