Some of you may remember last september when i got suspended from work and made more workin on my own fixin up a friend's truck...

Well... he went out a few days ago and picked up another one... but much MUCH cooler.

This sucker was imported to the midwest from Oregon a few years ago (not sure when) But when Jim got the title, it was like an index card, and it was from the original owner... signed over in 1986! No tellin how many times it's chainged hands since then... but who cares. I told him to get photo copys of the original title and to try to get the Ohio BMV to let him keep it.. for historical reasons.
No clue how that went.
Anyways.... PICS!!!

Look at the bumper... and the winch! This thing is cool!

I gave him these plates for X-mas for the skunk... but this one will actually get driven, so I agree they need to get installed on this one. It's WAY more worthey anyways.

Missing some trim... wrong hub caps...

Fugly bumper contest winner here! Sure hope he hasn't tried to lower the gate yet... it'll KILL the rear plate if he does. I already have the tail light trim... guess I'm keeping an eye open for a single letter for the gate now...

There was talk of woodgrain for the inst panel... I plan on talking him out of it. I think he already ordered a seat kit... I always wanted to try recovering a seat... can't be too hard, right?

Check out the vintage winch control! It's cable controled

Look at that bed floor.... a skuff and paint and it would be perfect... not that this will ever see newpaint. He likes the "slightly weathered look".

Bone stock 350 with seemingly nothing messed with. I think I even see some original hose clamps in there! (not on the gay pink heater hose... on the upper rad hose)

I'm not quite sure why it has an isolator... it doesn't have daul batteries... unless the winch installer placed another battery someplace OTHER than under the hood. I'll have to run down the wires when it ISN'T so friggen cold out there.

No SPID pic or anything else for now... like I said, it was freezing out there yesterday when I took these.
Here's a quick look around his driveway at some of the other cool stuff... he has lots and lots of cool stuff...
There's talk about putting the skunk's body on this frame... 427 tall deck/TH400 no clue what X-fer case or suspention... I know it's a mean sucker though.

This was his semi-daily driver till the last windstorm claimed the windshield. Not sure what it was that went through the glass... but I do know he already has a gasket and glass and some other things for it.

He already got a parts truck for the skunk and yellow truck. Not sure what all it has on it, nor what he'll be grabbing from it. I had planned on getting out there to look at it today, but my dad had some surgery on his knee and I was needed here. Maybe I'll get out there on sunday and look at the parts truck and possibly get more pics.

That sure is a nice find.I bet the auxilary battery was mounted in the bed.It hauled some sort of camper or had a shell,right?
I have an "O" and a an upper bed moulding he can have,if we can get the long piece to you somehow.

Very nice trucks indeed. I love the black and white one! In case your curious, we restore the seats in our vehicles(mainly because of a bad experience with an upholsterer) and it is not hard at all. Advice is to have a heat gun(or blow dryer) and another person. Take your time and they will come out excellently.

It may have had a camper or something on it... I'll have to look into that. It does have a trailer brake control under the dash... Like I said, I'll have to run that wire down and see what gives.
As for the trim.... I'll see if we can locate that long piece locally... I have a couple leads, but I'll keep this in mind. And from both me and Jim (the owner) thanks Tim.

Don't give the skunk more credit than it deserves... it's kinda on the junky side. Worn out, rusted out, bondo'd up then rusted out again...

I've read quite a bit on doing it, and your advice seems to be the main thing everyone says. I am pretty sure I can do it without too many problems. I like to think I am a bit smarter than the average tool.

I'm going back out there this week sometime and it is supposed to warm up. I'll probably take it for a spin and get more/better photos.

WOW...nice collection. I particularly like the Farmall's in a line and that old Billy-Goat tiller mower! Those Warn winches were originally built in Seattle. I see lots of them around here...but that is a very old classic.
