Hydraulic Master Cylinder/clutch help...

Hey guys, I am going to start buying all the parts to re-do my brakes before summer hits and was wondering if there is an aftermarket replacement that is an improvement over factory for the brake/hydraulic clutch combo master cylinder on the '60, '61 trucks? I want to keep the factory look and I am probably going to keep all 4 drum brakes, for now anyway, but I want to replace the master cylinder and all the hoses...

Any help would be mucho appreciated!

Good talk.....I guess I'll go with the factory replacements from Brothers. They make a nice stainless steel replacement set for all the intermediate lines too.

Re: Hydraulic Master Cylinder/clutch help...

I got a willwood clutch master cylinder, bracket and spacers, from MP Brakes. It bolts to the fire wall (just to the right looking at the master cylinder)Using the two bolts already there. You must drill a 5/8 hole for the push rod .
I have NOT installed it yet, as for the master a 70 impala drum/ drum will work ( see page 5 of the chiefs build)
I can takes pics if it will help you .

Re: Hydraulic Master Cylinder/clutch help...

Thanks Slepysal, I've decided to stay original though. The look I'm going for is period correct for the early '60s...
