I don't have a picture, but the shifter and boot on my 69 GMC is the same as my 71 and 72 chevrolets.

It actually depends on which transmission and transfer case you have

Re: 1969 4x4 shifter

I have a`70 shifter from a Blazer that had a TH350.It`s completely different from any NP205 shifter I`ve ever seen.It bends over towards the driver and up instead of just bending back. The only 4spd shifter I have was heated and bent back. That`s off a`70 with NP205.You have the Rockwell 221,right?

Re: 1969 4x4 shifter

Well the suburban has a sm465 manual trans and what I thought was a NP205 transfer case. I don't know anything about a rockwell. This transfer case has a drain and fill plug that are very close to one another and probably 5/8's wrench on a square head.

I will try to get some pictures.

Re: 1969 4x4 shifter

By the way....

WHat is the word on the Rockwell 221 transfer cases? How strong are they compared to say the 205's? I know mine makes a clunk sound when shifting the sm465 sometimes.

Re: 1969 4x4 shifter

From what i understand, they are extremely tough. I think they have straight cut gears also, but i am no expert on them.
