Tranny mount opninions

I'm looking at picking up an aftermarket trans crossmember, since the one that came with my truck is really sketchy.

First is available through GMC Paul's, ECE, etc, and the second is available from CPP. and i was wondering if anybody had experience, or comments about either model, beyond the cost difference.

GMC Paul's $70

CPP $59 (ebay store, regular $79)

Well a little extra info on ours is they were engineered to handle in excess of 1200ft lbs of torque, in fact we were told they should handle nearly twice that.

The GMC Pauls looks ruged & would add rigidity to the frame. It looks like you would not be able to adjust the mount height for driveshaft angle & would be more labor to remove when pulling the trans.

Pauls looks pretty beefy, I like that in a truck part, Plus he seems to support the people on this board pretty well, I always buy from the nicer guy whenever possible, especially if there product is nicer or at least comparable.

Neither on looks adjustable verticaly without spacers under the mount, that should not be an issue anyway with Stock mounts should it?

Re: Tranny mount opninions

I have the tubular crossmember from classic performance. Have not had any issues with mine and it was a direct bolt on. The only thing is that my engine is mounted with frame mounts reversed to put the engine in closer to fire wall. So not sure if it would be a direct bolt on with engine in stock location.
