I am just doing the front for right now. I just want a simple system that just goes up and down. my check list Compressor---Have Bags, cups and upper brackets---Will have Tank---need, What size? Lines---need, What size and How many feet will I need for just the front? Pressure switch--need, What Psi will I need? What else will I need? Any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks

Re: n00b question about air bags
i would at least get a 5 gal tank and aluminum if you have the extra cash so it doesnt rust, and youre going to need a water trap for an edc. Air line size is personal preference but i run 3/8 on all mine and it has pretty good fill and dump times without being violent. Any pressure switch from 145-200 would work just fine

Re: n00b question about air bags
no, you'll need 4 valve (2 fills & 2 dumps) otherwise ill have transfer when cornering. as for valves i run smc you can get them from suicidedoors as well. just wire them to one switch to control them together.

So this guy right here?
http://www.*****************/air-mana...s/smc-14-valve i have been doing some snooping and a bunch of people like the 1/4 size? or is it the 1/2 valve with the 1/4 line? oh and are the dump and the fills the same valve just reversed?

Re: n00b question about air bags
If you want a "really" fast system, go with 1/2". If you want a very quick system, 3/8" will work. If you just want an average speed system then 1/4" is just fine.
If your best deal is on a 3/8" system, there are several way to slow it down if it's too fast.

Re: n00b question about air bags
You still need 4 valves; about $100 worth of misc. fittings; a pressure switch (I prefer the 110/145); a better relay to run both compressors; bags; brackets/cups; misc. wire and connectors; some more PTC fittings.

your shop is in the newer shops over by home depot right? I plan on getting the bags and cups/ brackets from this thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=318514 I am also watching 4 brand new ones on ebay. The tanks i have only have two ports each, will that be a problem? Thanks again

Re: n00b question about air bags
Ya I'm in unit #314 in the business park behind HD.
Having a small number of ports will just mean you need to be more creative with your valve plumbing. I'm good at jotting down ideas and explaining things on paper, so maybe I can help with that too. I'll be in all day tomorrow, but this weekend may be hit/miss as I am trying to buy a new truck.
