Best place to mount air tank.

I have a 3 gallon air tank (10"-12" in diameter) that I need to mount somewhere on my 72'. I am planning on mounting a blazer fuel tank between the rails under my bed. Where could I fit my air tank? Is there a preferred spot? If anyone has pics of their setup I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Mine's just bolted under the bed on the drivers side mounted against the outside of the frame rail. Then I've got the compressor just under the cab on the drivers side so they are right next to each other. No pics though, and I'm planning to backhalf the truck soon so they got moved. Most likely will put them right under the bed on each side of the driveshaft. Sorry no pics, but that's my setup and my plan for redoing it.

Re: Best place to mount air tank.

The problem is the diameter of your tank, it is rather a large diameter. I have a tank that is only about 8" diameter, and about 26" long and fits under the bed along the framerail on drivers side like Leftcoast66. I am going to install the Blazer tank as well, where the spare would go.

That's where I plan to mount my Blazer tank. I will check the diameter of my air tank and see the exact diameter. Maybe it's 8", but it seems like it's bigger...

I might have done that too, but when you have a GMC then you have leaf spring hangers in the way.
