Cab swap ?s need a quick answer

I have a 84 chevy cab off a c10 pickup.Truck had 350 motor and turbo 400 trany.I am currently trying to sell it on craigs list and thought it was sold yesterday but today the guy called up to question the floor hump. I'm not all that into these vintage trucks [Im more of a 67-72 kind of guy].so I dont know the ansers.We both thought he could cut out the center section of the floor for his truck but says the high part goes way up on the firewall and is worried about cutting that much out,that it will weaken the integraty of the cab..His truck is an 88 v 3500 4 wheel drive with a 350 and tubo 400 and a 205np transfer case.Im not sure why the floor is so high,when he said it was a high hump I assumed it was a 4 speed.Does anyone know if the moter sits back or higher on this that the floor needs to be so high?What about cutting the floor out of the other truck is that gonna be a problem to do ? Any help appriciated don't wanna lose the sale need the cash! Thanks

The 4x4 and some manual trans. trucks have the high hump. If you use a 2x4 cab on a 4x4 the hump needs to be cut. The bolt in high hump can be layed over for a template and there will be a mall section at the rear of the hump that needs to be cut and welded in from a 4x4 cab.

The guy that wants to buy the cab says his hump in his truck does not unbolt and he's kind of worried over whether or not it can be done without being a major malfunction do you or anyone know if it makes a diffrence that his truck is an old body style but an 88 truck,dosent seen like it would.

ive done that before just cut out the 4x4 hump from my old cab and welded it in the new cab it wasnt that hard took me 3 hs or so and havent had any problems still drivin the truck everyday for the last 2 years no issues

It is just a matter of cutting it out and welding it in. If he is running a body lift of 1" the cab will bolt right on.

Most of the time the problem lies in the t-case.

Thanks capt the pictures make a good visual aid..Im not scarred but I want to reasure the buyer,A diffrent guy ,actually a board member here came today and brought his high hump with him and laid it in.It looked good but like Damien stated you have to cut a small section of the floor and piece it in near the back of the hump.The guy who came today may buy it but wants to look and make sure that part is not rotted on his truck.Does anyone else know if being an 88 maters at all?

If it is the '81-'87 style it should work. I don't think it will if it is the'88-'98 style.

I still have people interested that are wondering about the hump, is it true that with a body lift on a 4x4 it becomes a non-issue? How does the transfer case shift work out in that respect and for that matter how is that affected by a body lift in general? I'm not really familier with the set up on the ''newer'' stuff. I myself have all older 67-72 stuff.Thank for any more input you can offer,especialy ''been there done that guys''.
