Replacing my tired 283ci
Just got a older 350ci with 1:90/2:02 heads and flat top pistons on it.
Going to do a fresh rebuild. I have 3:08 gears on my 69 longbed with 15x10s in the back. Asking the members here for ideas on a build. Going for some mild to stout performance, but also want to be able to drive it everyday if I want or need to. |

Re: Replacing my tired 283ci
Just the engine. And that was on the high side. Dont want to spend that much. Truck budget, with the rust I have it will cost me 2500 just to remove the damage.

Re: Replacing my tired 283ci
What casting heads do you have? Combustion chamber size? Most likely you will have the heads reworked. If so, you would be ahead of the game if you got you a set of vortecs for just a little more money than you will spend on reworking your current heads.

Re: Replacing my tired 283ci
So my heads 190/202 will cost more than buying new Vortecs?

Re: Replacing my tired 283ci
No, not saying cost more. But will cost you some performance unless they have some work done to them.
