Factory Tach?

I have a nice factory tach gauge cluster and was wondering if you can hook it up to a msd 6al and a pro billet dist. I read somewhere that can't remember where but it said that you couldn't use the factory tach with anything other than points. Is this true? If not would love to get some info thanks.

Re: Factory Tach?

Mine has been hooked up to a HEI for about 15 years and hasn't missed a beat.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Factory Tach?

I have also been running them on HEIs for years and never had a problem. Just plug into the tach terminal on the cap.
As far as using the msd with it, i can't help there.
