Time to mate a couple trucks.

So i'm starting in on my newest money pit. Its a 1967 GMC 7500. i plan to recycle the body and parts of it here and there but in the end it will be a 4X4 recovery truck. I'm no Chip Foose but i can fabricate pretty well and body work comes fairly naturally to me. so i want a project but not a super involved full metal shop type of job.

Anyways its a single cab and i would like to make it a four door suburban style rig but i'm having a hard time finding trucks with body lines that i wont have to work too much. anybody have any ideas?

Here is what i have to work with right now.

So far the closest lines are on my 1967 international but as you can see they aren't that close.

Re: Time to mate a couple trucks.

You have top make a full custom job to make it a burb type. Nice truck btw! I would try to find 2 doors and make everything else from scratch and work around the doors.

Re: Time to mate a couple trucks.

i always thought it would look good to ditch the step, cut the fenders even with the bottom of the body and add a truck bed.

wow good call, thats what i was planning on doing except i am going to pull the fenders completely and leave the inners to give it a bit narrower appearance. i was even thinking of going to the length of channeling the body deeper into the frame for a lower center of gravity.

at first i was going to put an 04 duramax dually bed on it and knock the body line out of the middle but then i decided to go the 4 door route.

Re: Time to mate a couple trucks.

These are not exactly your body style, but here's some inspiration. I'd love to do this to my newly acquired dump truck!
