69-70 vs 71-72 buckets

I ordered my bucket seat upholstry today, and got the black houndtooth for 71-72 style foam.

My question is, is there enough of a diffrence to the foam that it wont work to put 71-2 style seatcovers on 69-70 seats? I have both styles, but wanted to keep the 71-2's original and recover the 69-70's beacause the covers are torn, but the foam is good. Just dont want to take off good upholsrty becasue its the wrongvcolor for me.

Anyone done this?

Re: 69-70 vs 71-72 buckets

i have seen threads about the difference on here before i try the search
i think the 71-72 are a little bit taller and skinnier at the tops the the 69-70
i also think there is a difference in the foam depth for the but
i hope im not giving you bad info
good luck recoving the buckets however you decide to go about it

The back foam is different. The 69/70s taper more towards the top.

Re: 69-70 vs 71-72 buckets

Like special k said there is enough difference that the covers will not fit well at all. If you have 71-72 seats the covers on the seat back are different, I think the 69-70 are more narrow. In any case the two don't interchange.
