West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
My 72 C-20 has the west coast jr mirrors on it. It came from the factory with upper/lower trim, which I am in the process of putting back on (PO removed it and filled the holes) It seems the upper trim on the doors runs right through the bottom mounts for the mirrors. I took some pics. How did they solve this problem originally? Did the trim go over the top of the mounting bolts? Or did they put the trim over the bracket, and drill through the trim to mount the mirrors? I assume these are the west coast jr mirrors. They are listed on the spid, and the mounting holes have pressed in threaded sleeves for the mounting bolts. I removed the drivers side mirror.

Re: West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
You're going to have to move the mirrors up if you want mount the upper trim. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear, but it's the only way it will look right.
Here's a couple of threads talking about mirrors: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...+coast+mirrors http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...+coast+mirrors

Re: West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
On a factory 71/72 below-eye mirror the top arm attaches on the flat along the window:

Re: West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
I believe the west coast jr mounted to the top of the door frame and below the window.
Special-ks pic shows how that style mirror mounts.

Re: West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
Scott tose mirrors are aftermarket copies of the jr's. The slide bracket at the top is not correct- look at the ones special k posted. You wil have to find the right mirrors to work with the chrome or change the mounting location if you want to use those. Hope this helps Harold

Re: West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
Thanks for the pic SK. That answered my question as to why there was a hole in the top
of the flat by the vent window. I can see where someone filled the hole and must have then used these brackets when he removed the trim. 2 problems solved at once: First, I can remove the mirrors, and the upper trim covers the two lower mounting holes perfectly. The upper mounting hole left over can be used as the front mounting hole for a sport mirror |

Re: West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
Now we`re clearer than clear .Now,some call these Jr west coasts, but west coast mirrors are what we see on large trucks with mirror heads tall & narrow.Jr west coasts are smaller versions of the same style, but needing less brace arms.Msgross showed a jr west coast, which wasn`t available after`68.These below eyeline mirrors took their place.

Re: West Coast Jr Mirrors/Upper trim question
the confusion comes due to what GM decided what they wanted to call them that day..on our truck came with below eyeline mirrors and gm called them west coast jrs. and as far as we can tell, the are in the same mounting holes from the factory and they have never been replaced
