Re: how to tell diff. between thin and thick wall square tubing..

easiest way i know to tell if tubing is thick or thin wall is to look at the end crossection of it and see if its thick or thin//or measure the thickness with a micrometer

Re: how to tell diff. between thin and thick wall square tubing..

The easy well to tell is looking at the corners of the tubing.

Very sharp corners will be thin wall.

Rounded corners wil be thick wall.

Re: how to tell diff. between thin and thick wall square tubing..

The tubing I used when I wrote that article was 250 thou. I used it because it was available and overkill.

I kind of agree with the guy above though, as long as it's .125 or thicker, that's pretty thick. BTW 125 tho is 1/8 of a inch.

Ya 35 bucks is alot to spend, especially when you can usually find the tubing somewhere for cheap or free

The U-Bolts I priced were 28.00 + By the time you break a drill bit, etc. , that kit is close to the same price, I like to do this stuff, but 35.00 seems pretty cheap.

You can't use the lowering blocks in that link. Those are for leaf spring trucks. Our coil spring trucks use a much different setup.
