Car Sitting for a little bit - check the pics!
My neighbors have to move, since someone ought the house they were leasing. So, long story short, they scrambled to move everything. Which includes this car. They asked if they could park the car at our place while they work everything out, and get a storage unit for it and such. So, I just had to show you guys this.
It's a '65 Galaxie 500, with a 289. 67,xxx on the clock, all original. I'm not much of a Ford guy, but I can admit, this is a clean clean car, and it's fun to look at it every now and then. So, just thought I'd share. -Sam.

as a car guy who likes to see the classic iron saved, you should wash it for them as soon as the temps get above freezing... make sure all the drains and cowl and all that jazz is clean. Since it is sitting outside now, this will matter.
That is a time capsule sitting there.... awesome ride. Bummer it has too many doors, but very neat none the less. |

Re: Car Sitting for a little bit - check the pics!
It is extremely well preserved. the worst thing is, is the the owner drove from Wis to Florida to pick it up from his dad who had it down there, and towed it back home. that was about 3 or 4 years ago.
In that time, it had simply sat under a tarp and blankets outside, while parked under some pine trees. Nothing has been done to it, aside from getting it to run. Mind you, this was accomplished by my dad and I, since he couldn't figure out how to hook the coil up right. I can safely say, the guy is alot of talk, and no action, and quite frankly, a borderline idiot. haha. He said he was going to fix it up and drive it a little bit. To my knowledge, it just needs some brake work, the driveshaft hooked back up, and maybe a few odds and ends. But, regardless. I'd love to see this car get the treatment it deserves. And I hope once things smooth out for them, they are able to get her cleaned up and back to her prior glory, even if it's just a coat of wax away. -Sam.

A guy down the block has a 2 door just sitting there. It's in as nice or better shape and has all the original trim on it.IIRC it even has factory hubcaps on it.

A decent set of wheels and tires goes a long way! I found this while surfing eBay. You guys might not like it, but I sure do.

Re: Car Sitting for a little bit - check the pics!
I used to have one of those. It was a 2 door, but not like the two black ones. The rear window on mine wasn't the fastback type, more like a coupe. I don't remember if maybe it was just a galaxy and not a 500?
I actually never really liked that car, just didn't handle well at all.
