Saw LIVRAT haul an EXTREMELY RARE big block one ton Sierra Grande (GMC LONGHORN), with bed tool box to the recyclers today...

We both wanted to keep it but there was really nothing there to save...REALLY!

I have a 67 that some farmer bothered putting a newer 292 into. I assume the mileage is original at 72K on the clock as it hasn't rusted apart here in the rust belt yet. I use it to haul trash to the garbage substation, I paid 300 bucks for it, it needed brakes and tires.

I have a one ton 1970 Chevy flat-bed dually...Non original motor,actually it's not even sitting in there right,some one made it fit.Hoping to put a S.B. 350 in there and putting in front disc brakes off a 1984 c/30 one ton dually.Summer project will post some pictures of front end conversion when I start.

I have two, The blue one is a 72, I have had it for 12 years. I used to use it to haul scrap metal, but it just mostly just sits around now. The Black one is a 68, I have had it for 9 years. I restored it just after I bought it. It does nothing but just sit in the garage and go to shows.

I never get tired seeing seeing your '68 Joesjunk!

Here's my three. My '67 C-30 diesel dually. my '69 C-30 ramp truck, and my Mad Max '69 GMC-V6 powered dump truck. I have a good cab that I hope I can get put on the dump truck this summer. The Junk Yard Dog runs and works much better than it looks!

I can tell by those pics it appears to be a '68 C-30 with a 157" wheelbase and has 3/4 ton rims on the front instead of the bud wheels.

What exactly where you needing to know about it?

From the standpoint of secure handling, sturdiness, ride, etc. I think that these C30s and GM 3500s are a bit better than the C20s and 2 bits better than the C10s. I seem to get interested in every one that comes up for sale - but have resisted quite a few nice ones. Here are some that live out in the garage - two are due for quite a bit of cosmetic fixup. All of these 1 tons are dually, but one GMC 3500 with utility bed Alaskan camper out back has single rear wheels - a very nice setup. I can't wait to get started on making a couple of these look as good as they run.

One tons came with those wheels too... only daul rear wheel trucks came with buds.

Yeah I know, but his truck is a 157" 1 ton dual wheel truck and it would have had buds. I guess I should have said 3/4 ton or 1 ton SRW rims though.

I sold my BB powered 1969 Longhorn in 1974 and heard it changed hands a couple more time before going to scrap. I sold my loaded 72 in 1976. It was eventually parted out to the last piece 2 owners later.

I have the upper & lower control arms and budd rotored spindles off of a 72 GMC dually that a friend of mine parted out.
I was thinking of putting them on one of my 1/2 ton long box trucks & using my 3/4 ton rearend from another parts truck and building a flat bed for it. But, I can't figure out what the heck I'd need it for. But, it was a cool thought.
(Yes, I've been diagnosed with A.D.D. at 41 yrs old, Da*nit!!!!)
