Could have gone to work , but..

I found a better way to spend the first REALLY nice day of the year...
I bummed around through a storage yard that a guy I met has, found a 1969 4x4 Suburban that used to be an Arkansas school bus, this guy has an interesting way of storing cars, insted of selling or scrapping the P.O.S. ones he stacks them on the ones that are worth something?

Then I worked on my Suburban, well part of it anyway....any idea if this is the right way to hook up my linkage on a 3 spd?

Re: Could have gone to work , but..

Make sure you get the linkage right on that tranny.

I remember many moons ago, the first drive in my Z28, after installing a new clutch. Went from what I thought was first, to second... Almost ate the windshield, I had them switched due to suffering from notknows**t.

Looking back on it now, it was funny. Back then, it was, "oh crap, gotta crawl under the car again". Then again, I was much thinner back then and could squeeze under the cars much easier.

Re: Could have gone to work , but..

Yah, that would suck!!! I mainly was trying to get the shifter working, I made some nylon bushings for the shifter rods, and found some bolts for stops on the thing, I probably should have thrown it away in hind sight (I have about two hours work in it already , but I am trying to keep this as affordable as possible, and still make it nice. I am pretty sure that forward rod is upside
down , if anyone knows for sure I would appreciate some insight.

That's a great way to store vehicles.....insert sarcasm here!

On another note Skirkpat, based on your avatar, you're either really ugly or a Bull Mastiff owner!...

I only mention it because every time I see a post from you, it reminds me on mine (Bull Mastiff). Lost her a couple years back.....best damn dog I ever had and will get another at some point.

If it is actually a picture of you, I apologize for my rudeness!..

Re: Could have gone to work , but..

Thanks for noticing, that is Cy, he allows me to live with him...He thinks he owns the place. I agree, Bullmastiff is by far the best breed of dog that I have been around. Cy was a rescue , got him about a year ago people do not realize what it means to own a 150 LBS. dog....Cy is full bred royalty, his Father was Dox Fast Freddy , from Dox Bullmastifffs in Ill. With 60+ A.K.C. Champion offspring FRED was the all-time top-producing Bullmastiff sire, and had nine conformation Championships he was the most conformation-titled Bullmastiff in breed history, Cy was from his last vial of frozen puppy juice " FRED had been dead for years when Cy was born" kinda weird, If you ever get another one I can not say enough good things about this breeder. They are truly the best of the best.

SP, glad to hear I wasn't the only one that took advantage of the nice weather as it's been a long time coming.

I got some yard work done and then took the '69 out for a spin. To bad the nice weather isn't going to last through the weekend...
