Talking Suburban progress

Restoration of my son's Burb is continuing in spite of the winter weather. We are painting/sealing the underside and most of the exterior bodywork is done. Priming and painting will come in the spring. The Burb has to be our largest project to date. There seems to be no end to the body!

We are looking forward to driving it this summer as it has ac with rear air, tilt, buckets, TH350 with 350 engine and four wheel drive.

We would like to see a picture of the original spare tire cover if anyone has one.

Jim

Wow what an abitious undertaking. It's going to be done right as I can see by your pictures. What a great thing for you and your son to get to know each other.

Guitarman is right about the undertaking. We have to walk away from the project every once and awhile. The frame and running gear/engine/ etc. have been completed for some time now as well as the doors/fenders/hood. The big body is big and we have done major work on it so far!

project

ya know i think its an excellent thing you are doing. My son is 15 and has loved cars forever. Im a bit of a car nut myself. Well years ago i had a 69 cutlass S which we both loved and i lost it during the divorce. When i first acquired the car my son made me promise him that one day he would get it well anyway before i start to rant years later i took in a 1976 Chevy C10 which was an old farm truck that has a severe case of lepracy. I was going to run this truck into the ground using it as a garbage hauler for my sonstruction company. My son however loved the truck and recognized the potential in it and convinced me to pull it off the road . As we speak my son and i are gathering up alot of parts to repair this truck, and we are preparing to restore it. This truck will be his when he turns 16 in april and is allowed to drive legally. The father /son bonding is tremendous and we havent even picked up a wrnech to it yet. I would recommend this to any father son or parent child
Our next project will be a 72 stepside for me, and eventually we are going to fix up a 1989 cavilier for my little girl when she gets her license
PS your ride looks great best of luck with it
anyway enough said
