Saturday pics (3-7) Cruise In season is here!
Yes! Cruise in season is officialy here! I heard this morning that there was a cruise-in down in Cartersville this evening. Since the weather was close to perfect for a spring day I rolled out Christy's 54 for the drive. It was about 1.5 hrs each way with about half of it being on the interstate. It's the furthest the car has been driven since we put it together. I was kinda bummed because I wanted Christy to be with me the first we had it an event like this and she's out of town. I went ahead and made the trip solo and kinda parked off to the side so as not to attract attention. There were quite a few 67-72 pickups there but I only took a couple pics while I was there. Here's a few for ya!
There was a newer chevy pickup with some big rims laying rocker so I had to check it out. If this belongs to anyone here...Sorry...You should be ashamed for rollin this hacked up garbage and allowing it to be seen by the public! I'm FAR from a pro, but the one airride install I've worked on looks like art compared to this! Anyone care to try to count how many No No's that are in these shots?? Sorry...I make it a point to never type anything in a forum that I wouldn't tell someone to their face. But that bothered me! Anyway. Back to something better looking! I just really liked the look of this mill. You know I like green right?? The only other 49-54 chevy that was there beside Christy's. |

Re: Saturday pics (3-7) Cruise In season is here!
One more from the cruise in...
I also helped my brother move today. Placed that joker in the window as soon as we got there...just to make the neighbors sweat a bit. Brian has also been busy this week. He couldn't go to the cruise because he was bustin his tail on this joker. Yes! That's painted on there! After the clear. He's still gotta go back and water sand it all so it'll be super slick. Not to bad for somebody that's never painted anything but a house is it?? Hope you guys like the pics! Thanks! |

Re: Saturday pics (3-7) Cruise In season is here!
That bagged pickup was some serious eye candy from about 20ft. I just couldn't talk myself in to shooting a pic of the whole truck after looking in the bed. Maybe that's just a temporary setup until the owner can get it done "right". Either way....

Don't worry... that truck will burn straight to the ground if he doesn't have those power leads fused (why would he if he didn't see fit to grommet through the metal).

Nice pics Asa.I'll bet you forgot the fried baloney and waffle samwich though. It's a shame Christy wasn't with ya for the first trip out but it was too nice a day not to get it out and drive it a little. The truck has a shorter list of what was done right.

Re: Saturday pics (3-7) Cruise In season is here!
I'm pretty sure that this is the same truck that I took a pic of last year.
That's gotta be a non stock rearend underneath it. Did you see how deep the lip on the back wheels were and the fact that it wasn't mini tubbed?? |

That's some serious dish right there. I love the knock off hub caps on there!
Is that also plumbing pipe on the ghetto air rise system? Last edited by texanidiot25; 03-08-2009 at 02:05 AM. |

I went to Lowe's with the wife today and on the way home we saw there was a show at Chick Fil A. There was some very nice rides there. Only one 67-72. Didn't know I was going to a show so no camera

We need a before-after shot of that bed Brian's working on.
IIRC it was pretty rough, he's doing a great job!

Great pics SeeTen! I too can't stand hack work. It's even worse if you buy a truck that has hidden hack work already done to it. ...Joe

The stance and wheel/tire combo on that stepper look great.
If the air plumbing and wiring on that truck look that bad imagine what the suspension install looks like!

Re: Saturday pics (3-7) Cruise In season is here!
Try sending a PM to 71see10 for the paint code info. I think that it's a Hummer color but I'm not really sure. It seems like he told me that he has to shoot a coat of white first and then shoot the yellow on top of it to get that particular shade.
