i couldnt find the right section to post this in,so sorry if its in the wrong area.

im my 1967 c10,its not a factory a/c model.

whats the best way to do ANY type of air conditioning in it 'ON A BUDGET"
it gets to 120 here in the summer(mohave valley,arizona) so i need it.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do A/C "on a budget"....good luck

Yeah non-factory A/C = Throw budget out window. There are several companies that make A/C systems, or you could piece together a factory style system, but they're all going to cost over a grand by the time you're finished.

nahh you can do if for less but it will not be factory. andy you will spend lots of time at the junk yard. you can put together an ac sys from some cars from the 80 to early 90,s you can have the hoses made. I work at a mack deal and we can make hoses there. not sure about where you are.

Got my A/C setup from Ebay for $66.66.

It came with ALL underhood stuff including compressor. Also came with in-cab boxes, cables, wiring, and controller. All I had to do was buy vent ductwork, dash vents, and fab up a compressor bracket for an I-6 since nobody in the aftermarket world likes us guys. So, it can be done if you're lucky.

You can probably hang one of the old style Mark IV style (brand not out of the car) under dash units in the tru Bck and get the brackets to mount the compressor on the engine for a somewhat reasonable price but it will take up a lot of room and may not appeal to everyone. But it will get the inside of the truck cold.

I'd vote for one of the kits sold by Vintage or one of the other companies that makes ac units for these trucks. Some guys have converted some of the small foreign car units to work but I am not sure which ones are the easy ones to do that with.
Ah, Ha, I have a small foreign car sitting in the yard with a very good heater/ac unit and the car is headed for the scrapper.

you can find some cheaper ac units for around 6-800 range, nothing fancy or factory but at 1 120 im sure you wouldnt care. just hit up some swap meets

If your truck is a small block I have an under dash unit that I just took out of my 68. I am installing a big block with factory air. The truck was my Dad's and he had the unit installed in about 1970. It will freeze your ---- off by running R-12. I haven't ran it with R134, but I bet it would work fine. I am in Texas where it gets plenty hot and humid and it worked great. It is complete with condenser, hoses, compressor and brackets, pulleys, belt, under dash unit and most importantly an obsolete heater adapter duct that was required for a proper installation.
