So, I checked voltage on my electric choke wire goin to the edelbrock, but there's none. Anyone know where the fuse is? I checked all of them in the cab, but I'm at a loss right now. Whiskey is killing my problem solving skills, so I'm having a hard time.

Power for the elec choke comes from a switch in the oil galley at the rear of the eng behind the distributor. Should be a pink wire if I am not mistaken. Wire will not go hot until the eng is running. jim

If the engine only had heat operated choke you could get power from the coil wire. Thats how my 77 was hooked up and it's never blown the ignition fuse
so it must not draw too much amperage.

I still haven't resolved this problem. The carburetor is an edelbrock. My truck originally had the integrated head six cylinder, but even it had electric choke. I think that I actually blew the fuse when I was fooling aroung with the carb (i.e. touched power to ground). So I don't think this is an issue with current.

I really just have no idea where the fuse is! I tested all of them in the fuse panel on the inside of the truck. To my knowledge there aren't any other places for fuses and this isn't on a fusible link. Any help?

I know for sure it has an electric choke on that engine.
But I'm not sure where it pulls power, I 'm thinking ignition or keyed accy.

I looked on mine and I was wrong, the choke is hooked up to the smaller
black wire going to the alternator plug, not the coil wire.

Ok in my book it shows to be a blue wire going to the choke, and it goes to the
accy fuse. (for a 1980 model)

Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.
